Systems Administrator

Speck 1 is hiring a Systems Administration to be a part of its development team. The Systems Administrator is part of the Product Engineering team, and is responsible for various Systems Administration duties. Essential job duties include:

​

Job Functions:

​

  • Provide technical services, including systems design, planning, hardware/software installation, operations, maintenance, and upgrades to UNIX/Linux systems and infrastructure components which support daily operating business functions.

  • Ensure and maintain optimum performance and utilization of enterprise-wide UNIX/Linux Systems.

  • UNIX/Sun Solaris 10.X Systems Administration and engineering working with large scale complex UNIX environment.

  • UNIX/Linux Server builds, configuration and fine tuning.

  • Red Hat/Sun LDAP administration and troubleshooting.

  • Shell scripting and/or Perl scripting.

  • Primary - Senior Level IT Infrastructure knowledge of Sun SPARC & Xeon Servers and Solaris 10 & RHEL OS, Networks LAN/WAN, Communications Protocols, SAN & Utilities in a large complex enterprise environment.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x, 6.x, 7.x Systems Administration and Engineering working in a ESXi VMware Linux Server environment.

  • Server Backups and Restores using Symantec NetBackup.

 

Required Qualification:

 

  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Computer Applications or Information technology. 

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.

  • Understanding of systems administration in a Unix/Linux environment.

  • Strong understanding of fundamental systems administration and Information Technology concepts, such as Operating Systems, Servers, Virtualization, Databases, Security and Networks.

  • Prior systems administration experience in large scale networks.
